So you’re probably wondering what this is all about and how it can help you and your horse? Basically, our horses work really hard for us, and they do so willingly. The horse is not necessarily designed to carry weight on their backs and jump big fences etc. It just so happens they do these things rather well. However, they must be strong in their bodies in order to do so without causing pain, discomfort and injury. There has been a massive increase in ailments such as kissing spine and joint deterioration which leads me to believe that we are possibly asking too much too soon, and without there being proper conditioning of the horse’s musculoskeletal system to allow it to cope with the stresses of ridden work.

Massage can really help to:

Other things like saddle fitting and fitness/work regime also play a vital role in the horses physical and mental well-being and I am committed to helping horse owners to understand this, and therefore help their horses to be stronger, more supple and most importantly, free from any pain and discomfort.

Ongoing work that I am doing

Ziggy is one horse that I have worked with, alongside his owner, to improve his condition. Due to being out of work and an ill-fitting saddle, his back was seriously affected by muscle atrophy and his spine had dipped. I got to work with Sarah, teaching her how to lunge and use long lines. Over the course of several months, Ziggy improved tremendously. His back lifted, he was moving forward more willingly and developed a stronger topline. His owner learnt valuable skills and is in a much better place with him.
